MEET KENNY

" I played most of my minor hockey with repaired sticks, I have sort of come full circle repairing sticks for my own kids.”
- Kenny, Owner of Stick Fix Okanagan
Kenny has spent most of his life involved in hockey. Growing up in the small mining communities of Granisle and Burns Lake in northwestern British Columbia, he played minor hockey before advancing to the junior ranks with the Dawson Creek Kodiaks of the BCJHL. He later played three seasons of Senior A hockey with the Burns Lake Braves.
Following in his family's footsteps, Kenny built a successful career in the mining industry and owned his own drilling company for several years. During that time, he also dedicated 13 years to coaching minor hockey, helping develop young athletes both on and off the ice.
In 2007, while coaching, Kenny built his own portable skate sharpener and began sharpening skates for his team. His passion for equipment repair runs deep.
"When I was growing up, my grandpa built his own skate sharpener and sharpened skates for years. He was known as the best skate sharpener around. We would also take him our broken wooden hockey sticks, and he would laminate them back together for us. I played most of my minor hockey with repaired sticks."
With a lifelong appreciation for craftsmanship and repair, joining the Stickfix team was a natural fit. Kenny became a certified Master Stick Technician and Professional Skate Sharpener, bringing his expertise and passion to the Okanagan. From his West Kelowna location, he proudly serves customers throughout the region.
Today, Stickfix Okanagan specializes in professional carbon fibre repairs for a wide range of products. Through a partnership with Liquid Venom, customers can also choose from several premium finishing options, including vinyl wrapping, custom paint work, and hydro dipping.
